If you are like me you are shocked that fall came on so quickly and we are headed to school for parent/teacher conferences. I feel like it was yesterday in late August and we were starting school. Things have been moving so fast. Our book fair was a huge success this fall earning $1400 in funds for the PTA and $950 scholastic dollars to spend for the school. That is one of our largest sales ever and a huge thanks to Heidi Samuelson for flawlessly running the show. Our first ever “Books and Boos” helped draw in crowds in the middle of the week along with some Halloween crafting fun. We may look at making this a tradition in coming years.
We will be honoring our Veterans next week at our annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Tuesday the 14th at 8:30am. We are looking forward to a slide show and a presentation from the SCA. We are still looking for some help so if you could pickup morning coffee carafes or help me setup/unload my car it would be greatly appreciated. Click here to help.
We are looking for more pies for our wonderful JDES teachers for our annual pie day. We are still about 37 pies short and we are looking to send each teacher home with a pie to help take the load off of them and ensure they have a relaxing break. Please click here if you can bake or buy a donation. The hospitality committee will be available Monday the 20th and Tuesday the 21st in the carpool lane to accept the pies during the morning drop-off. We will be providing the teachers the pies on Tuesday for their Thanksgiving dinners.
Our next huge event is right after Thanksgiving and that is our annual Bingo night on Thursday, November 30th at 5:15pm in the Cafeteria. Space is limited and sign-up begins tomorrow on November 9th. The attachment to this post or at the top will help take you to the signup or and to also help if you can bring some prizes or volunteer.
Lastly, our next PTA meeting is on Tuesday, November 14th at 6pm either in the Library or Cafeteria depending on what is going on but we will be there and kids are always welcome.
More fun will be coming in the winter with our winter parties, variety show and more. Happy Fall!
